All Generations at the Workplace

Today the generation Z accounts for the largest number of people joining the workforce next to the millennial generation. We have a small number of people over sixty going into retirement. This is a workforce with a lot of diversity and that presents the HR with a challenge. The baby boomer generation makes up the upper-level management for many organizations, they have done well to adopt mobile technology but they are still yet to master some skills like typing. The task is in the balancing of the tech-savvy but socially deficient generation Z with the social but tech deficient boomer generation.

After the free love revolution the boomers would go down in history as one of the most hardworking generation. This generation is more hands-on with analog technology and works well with productivity that is visible. Boomers that appear to be uncomfortable with technology can be made productive with a ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) that converts paper technology into digital one. It can be hard to predict what a future generation will do in the workplace. The generation Z also stands out, they are well connected and have gift from their parents of being keen with mentorship.

This is the generation that is eager to learn and not take anything for granted . If you are looking to incorporate generation workplace work place you should set them up with a millennial mentor or a generation X mentor. Once they are in the system at the workplace they will do well and bring you some knowledge you will find valuable. You will know a generation X from the can-do attitude and their charisma. They are early adopters of new technology too as much as they didn’t grow with a life filled with it Millennial are not easily understood by other generations in the workplace especially on the metrics of work, with freedom and mobility they will outdo other generations fast and read more now.
